About the role
We are seeking an experienced HPC Storage Engineer to join our Quant Systems team in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Gurugram. Quant Systems is a global group responsible for designing, building, and operating the firm’s largest and most critical compute infrastructure. This includes operating system platforms, high-performance computing environments, software development tooling, networking, and large-scale storage systems that support quantitative research and trading. The team works in a collaborative environment, integrating advanced technologies to meet demanding performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will design, evaluate, operate, and troubleshoot petabyte-scale storage platforms used across the firm. You will work on researching and deploying new storage technologies, ensuring high availability and performance, and resolving complex production issues. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the firm’s global infrastructure and contributing to a wide range of technology initiatives within a large, distributed computing environment.
Who we're looking for:
Basic qualifications:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field with an exceptional foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming
Robust expertise in Linux systems and a solid knowledge of networking fundamentals
At least 5 years of experience in programming or scripting.
Hands-on experience with HPC storage filesystems.
Proven experience designing and implementing high-performance, reliable, and secure infrastructure systems end-to-end.
Excellent troubleshooting skills, including experience with diagnostic and tracing tools
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with Red Hat and Ubuntu Linux distributions.
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet.
Excellent communication skills, along with robust organizational and time-management abilities.
Experience with GPFS
