What you will do:
You will assist with many facets of publishing and ensuring that best-practice processes are followed; liaising with editorial, production, and design teams to agree on timelines and to maintain the editorial calendar.
You will fact-check articles, reports, books, exhibits, multimedia products, and editorial mailings. Following up with stakeholders to reconcile fact-checks in a timely and expedient manner.
You will manage the critical, time-sensitive process of securing internal approval of all client mentions made in text and exhibits. Specifically, InDesign and web (in Sitecore) layout of both short and long pieces.
You will produce social media assets for various channels to promote publications and events.
You will also liaise with editors and practice constituents to ensure web/app pages are clear, usable, and conform with publishing best practices (e.g., SEO, taxonomy tagging, inline linking, accessibility).
You will also help to manage the assets that enter the production process, tracking their progress from author team approvals to copy editing, exhibit design, art direction and layout, proofreading, and final sign-off.
Lastly, you will work with external agencies (e.g., vendors that provide external editorial, production, and data-visualization support) as needed.

McKinsey Global Publishing is a team of editors, designers, producers, and developers who are responsible for creating and publishing content that supports the firm’s reputation and advances the practice of management by helping colleagues create and publish their insights in the form of articles, reports, blogs, videos, podcasts, infographics, email newsletters, and other formats. You will work with many members of the publishing team, as well as internal communications professionals and external vendors.

Your background:
Bachelor's degree required
2+ years of editorial or publishing experience
Experience managing print and digital content and user experience
Crisp written, verbal, and presentation skills
Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess situations, evaluate options, and make decisions
Strong organizational and project-management skills
Comfort working in a low structure, non-hierarchical environment
Entrepreneurial mindset
Willingness to learn and take on tasks outside the core job description
