Job Purpose:
Evaluate and facilitate to implement process controls and up gradation of instrumentation controls and identify improvement initiatives for enhancement of productivity & to enhance effectiveness of control systems in conformity with Chlor-Alkali business objectives in the Instrumentation function. To prepare, analyze various schemes / reports for improvement in control systems and automation systems.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities | Supporting Actions
1. Improvement initiatives : To identify, formulate, evaluate and facilitate implementation of improvement projects for enhancement productivity & to optimize operational efficiencies in conformity with business objectives | Study and evaluate the opportunities for improvement through the study of process operations right through Salt handling to the Product storage for Chlor-Alkali products to Value added products and also power plants at different units • Controllers • Process variables- field instrumentation • Control communications • Valves servos and motors
1. Scheme Preparation and take active part in the improvement process: To prepare, analyze & implement various schemes / reports for improvement in operational efficiency, optimization of energy & utilities consumptions | • Support and advise the units for in order to ensure that the Business is operated in a profitable manner. • Analysing the equipment’s deficiencies and their impacts on productivity, and bottom line • Ensure Contrails systems and DCS and alarms audits are conducted at intervals not less than once in a year at each location. Follow-up on appropriate action to be taken in order to comply with standards and findings
1. Review of critical processes for Continuous improvement for Controllers and instrumentation efficiencies and maintenance costs reduction | • Critically review the equipment’s efficiencies and resultant deviations • pay attention to minute details of all the critical processes variables and controls which can cause deficiencies ,
1. Adequacy and effectiveness : Analyze the data for all the scopes for optimization and reduction opportunities and execution of digital initiative with co-ordination to IT team. | • Regular analysis instrumentations of all critical equipment and processes data pertaining to all key equipment’s and predict through use of tools for eliminating the defectives and deficiencies
