Manufacturing Implementation Facilitator
McKinsey & Company
McKinsey & Company
What you will do:
You will play an active role in manufacturing shop floor transformations for Indian clients involving the application of digital tools and analytics, as well as solving manufacturing/production related issues in a variety of industry verticals.
You will spend a significant part (>70-80%) of your time working with the MSC practice and consulting teams in McKinsey to help our clients solve complex problems in the manufacturing domain. Common topics addressed by our teams include: yield and throughput enhancements; unlocking workforce productivity; unlocking capacity in manufacturing plants; reducing cost and defects from poor quality production; ensuring reliable, flexible and safe production; as well as maximizing asset returns in production.
You will gather data from clients, analyze the data, and conduct diagnostics on the overall manufacturing health and performance by leveraging our digital and advanced analytical capabilities. Your toolkit will include building and deploying digital manufacturing applications on partner IoT platforms, sensor-driven diagnostics, smart OEE, ITOT foundations, etc.
Through your work, you will have opportunities to present results to client leadership teams and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members. You will relay what you have learned to our internal team and factor in these learnings to further develop, improve and maintain McKinsey’s proprietary MSC-X tools and other knowledge development projects.
There is flexibility to hire at knowledge analyst or senior knowledge analyst levels depending on your overall experience.
You will be a part of McKinsey’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) service line under the global Operations practice - specifically, MSC’s tech-enablement and analytics wing, MSC-X. You will be based in the Chennai or Gurugram office and will travel frequently to serve our clients onsite.
MSC-X comprises a suite of internal and third-party tools, proprietary analytics, and benchmarking databases that accelerates diagnostics and transformations in the manufacturing and supply chain domain.
You will work directly with our clients and McKinsey colleagues, spending substantial time at our clients’ manufacturing facilities that span a variety of industries. The team primarily supports clients in India, but opportunities in the greater region and beyond sometimes arise as well.
