Slatebook is a career platform for top tech & product talent. Our mission is simple: replace the exhausting search-and-apply grind with an agent that quietly works on your behalf — surfacing the roles that actually fit, while you focus on the work you’re already doing.
Why we exist
The job-search model is inverted.
The way job hunting works today is backwards. You spend hours on job boards filtering noise. You re-write the same résumé for the tenth time. You apply into a black hole and hear nothing. Meanwhile, the roles you’d actually want — the ones written for someone with your exact background — sit buried three clicks deep on someone else’s ATS.
We thought the signal was in the wrong place. The signal is in your profile, your work, your craft — not in your willingness to search for jobs.
So we built Slatebook around a different premise: you build a real profile once, tell us what you’re after, and we do the rest. Our recommendation engine continuously scans hundreds of company career pages, scores every new posting against your background, and surfaces only the ones worth your time. Match scores are out of 10, ranked descending, so the top of the page is always where you’d start.
It’s a small idea, executed seriously: signal beats noise, push beats pull, and the platform should respect the user’s time.

Quiet by default
Your data is yours. Your agent is off until you turn it on. Recruiters can't message you uninvited. Email digests are opt-in. We treat your attention as sacred — the platform should disappear when you're not using it.
Quality over volume
Slatebook is invite-only by design. We'd rather have 500 great profiles than 50,000 incomplete ones. We're not optimizing for monthly active users — we're optimizing for users who actually find good work here.
Honesty about what AI can do
We use AI heavily — for parsing résumés, generating bullets, matching jobs semantically. We don't pretend it's magic. The tools are good, sometimes imperfect, and you're always in control of the final output.
Network with substance
Connections, vouches, and collaborative project history make profiles harder to fake and easier to trust. It's not a follow graph — it's a working-together graph.
